Annette Johnson, Principal
Annette Johnson has more than 35 years of experience in the private and public sectors, specializing in cultural arts related project design and management, fundraising, grantwriting, and marketing. She has curated contemporary art exhibits, initiated arts education programs, produced festivals, music and dance performances, public humanities programs, and large scale community events.
Her experience includes administration and accounting in the private sector, and 11 years at the Wignall Museum at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga as Assistant Curator was involved in all aspects of museum operations including curatorial and exhibition development, design, and installation; education, public programs, community relations, fundraising and administration.
She spent 6 years as a Senior Manager in the City of Pico Rivera Parks and Recreation Dept. directing six divisions and managing budgets and projects exceeding $1 million. She supervised full-time and seasonal staff, consultants and contractors. Under her leadership the department developed marketing materials, special events, education programs and city-wide events that earned state and national recognition.
Annette has served as a peer grant reviewer and District Co-Chair for the California Assembly of Local Arts Agencies. She has been an active volunteer in K-12 education, her community, political campaigns, and various arts organizations. In 2025 she completed 8 years as Board member and 2 years a Chair for Arts for LA. She is a founding advisor for the MRH Fund for Artists.
Since 2005 she has worked as an independent consultant helping non-profit organizations, university departments and government agencies throughout southern California make their projects happen. From 2008 2025 she worked with the Foundation for Dance Education (dba Inland Pacific Ballet) as Director of Marketing & Development. She is also an active performing musician, singer, songwriter and maker of art.
Annette holds a BA in Art History from CSU Fullerton and an MPA from CSU San Bernardino. She earned certificates in Non-Profit Management from Cal-Poly Pomona and Marketing Management from UC Riverside.
